SCNTE LLC is an advanced materials engineering and manufacturing company located in Dayton, OH outside Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. SCNTE specializes in the design and manufacture of carbon materials for electronic and electrochemical applications. SCNTE currently produces the only electrochemical grade carbon nanomaterials without metal or amorphous carbon impurities. We produce this material via a process called Carbo-Thermal Carbide Conversion (CTCC), patent pending. This process allows us to produce the world’s first and only catalyst free carbon nanotube electrode. The CTCC process is used to produce highly ‘kinked” Solid Carbon Nanorods (SCNRs) which are a unique subset of Single walled CNTs that display an exceptionally high degree of edge plane character. At SCNTE we produce a ready to use CNT (SCNR) electrode (NanoC-Pro™ Electrode). We also Produce CNT (SCNR) arrays and CNT (SCNR) paste/composite materials . For research use, CNT (SCNR) arrays provide the ideal format for high value applications. Because the active electrode area is not diluted with binders or fillers, maximum electron transfer area is available. SCNTE produces two general forms of arrays: aligned arrays and non aligned arrays. In both instances, CNTs (SCNRS) are covalently attached to the underlying electrochemically inert current collector.
